On May 15th, TapJets went on Twitter to conduct a quick poll to find out Twitter users’ opinion on what cryptocurrency was an ideal payment method for the company. TapJets is the world’s first true Hail-A-Jet service that allows its customers to instantly book a private jet at a good price.
The poll came from the decision to accept cryptocurrency as a payment, out of which, Verge [XVG], Ripple [XRP], and Litecoin [LTC] were the 3 options given to the people. The coins were picked based on the request of their current clients and community feedback.
According to the Twitter post, 57,054 Twitter users participated in the poll, with Ripple and Litecoin giving each other a tough competition.
Amidst this, some Twitter users accused XRP of casting fake votes as the votes on the post did not match the ones seen on the ‘Tweet Activity’. They tweeted:
“
@TwitterSupport can you please clarify the difference in numbers for us#Followers deserve to know the answer.@TapJets / product team”.
However, the response was not reported.
As reported in a blog post by TapJets, the personal jet service company has decided on Ripple and Litecoin as a payment option for their private jet charter. They said that the ‘API testing, exchange transaction testing, and other validations’ as a part of their assessment should be completed by 28th May, as it is their goal to make these coins available to their clients by 1st June.
They further mentioned that this activity ‘would depend on how agile development teams of XRP/LTC are to our requests’. The concerned team at TapJets is already in contact with the LTC team and will approach the XRP team on Monday. Furthermore, they acknowledged XVG saying:
“You have a strong following, great feedback, and lots of potentials…..You have my commitment that in very near future we will be working on another viable altcoin addition to this new UX, and Verge is on top of my list.”
Vinay Dalal, a Twitter user commented:
“Seriously XRP clearly won the poll and you are giving LTC a chance ..then why did you even made us vote
#xrp#Ripple”
To this, Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin replied:
“So they should just go with the winner of a gameable social poll? The poll was to get people chatting and by all accounts it was a huge success.”
