Triip, a Singaporean, global travel platform that claims to make it possible for travelers to enjoy exciting private tours by offering them frictionless hotel booking experiences in 227 countries, has announced that its clients will soon be able to book their travels with Ether and TOMO tokens, according to local news source Digital News Asia on December 13, 2018.

TRIIP Joins the Blockchain Movement

Per sources close to the development, TRIIP has made it clear that by mid-December 2018, it would start accepting Ethereum’s Ether tokens as legal tender from its clients. In essence, travelers who use its platform could pay for all their travel needs with the altcoin.

Also, TRIIP has reportedly said that it plans to start accepting Tomochain’s TOMO coins by the end of December 2018, to make life easier for its customers.

For the uninitiated, Tomochain is a blockchain project that claims to be an innovative solution to the Ethereum smart contracts blockchain’s scalability challenges.

The platform claims to feature a 150-Masternodes architecture and is based on the Proof-of-Stake Voting (POSV) consensus algorithm and offers users “near-zero fees,” lightning-fast transaction confirmation and more.

Tripp Not Wary of the Crypto Winter

It’s stale news that bitcoin, the world’s flagship blockchain-based virtual currency has bled out more than 75 percent of last year’s gains, with alternative cryptoassets like ether becoming almost worthless, Triip, however, remains unperturbed by the market situation.

The firm has reportedly hinted that it firmly believes in the revolutionary power of blockchain technology – the foundation behind most digital assets – adding that as the technology matures, more and more users both from the travel and tourism industry and other sectors will soon warm up to cryptos.

In his address to Triip’s growing list of partners which includes PicMix, a photo-editing and collage making app, the CEO of Triip, Hai Ho stated that:

“As our partners, we are excited that you also believe in our forward-looking positioning within Triip as well as in the blockchain world. Great things are happening, and we are glad you’ve joined the train.”

Indeed, great things are happening in the blockchain and cryptospace even with the cryptoassets price slump, as many enthusiasts are beginning to understand the fact that there is more to DLT and cryptos than mere price speculations.

As reported by BTCManager on December 12, 2018, there are now more retailers and merchants accepting cryptocurrency payments globally as compared to 2017.
