Kaleido, a startup that helps enterprises implement blockchain technology, has launched a new full-stack Ethereum marketplace platform in collaboration with ConsenSys and Amazon Web Services, the company announced in a press release on November 8, 2018.

Kaleido Blockchain Marketplace with Plug-and-Play Services and Partnership Program

Kaleido has announced the launch of the first full-stack platform with a marketplace of plug-and-play services, integrations, and partner software. According to the company’s press release, the aim of the new Ethereum marketplace is to accelerate enterprise blockchain projects from proofs-of-concept to live production business networks.

The ConsenSys company has partnered with Amazon Web Services to launch the Kaleido Marketplace and extend its existing Blockchain Business Cloud, which will include trusted tools and services from Kaleido, AWS, and members of the new partnership program, all offered as plug-and-play.

First users of the marketplace have said that it eliminates 80 percent of the custom code required to build their blockchain project, as they now have access to industry products such as Chainlink for smart contract oracles, Viant for supply chain management, and OpenLaw and Clause.io for real-time legal contracts.

Commodities platform Komgo, whose network of financial institutions includes Citi, ING, Koch Supply & Trading, MUFG Bank, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole Group, BNP Paribas, and Shell, was one of the marketplace’s first clients, the company said in the release.

Marketplace the Next Evolution of the Company’s Service

Kaleido is one of more than 50 blockchain projects overseen by ConsenSys, the blockchain technology company and incubator, launched by Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin in 2014. Launched in May 2018, the company has helped organizations create over 1,000 blockchain networks with its Blockchain Business Cloud.

Kaleido Founder and COO, Sophia Lopez, said that the company has radically simplified the adoption of blockchain and eliminated much of the specialized blockchain expertise needed to oversee such projects.

Steve Cerveny, the CEO of Kaleido, said that the Kaleido Marketplace is a “one stop shop for all things enterprise blockchain,” and added:

“The reality is only about [ten]percent of an enterprise blockchain project is the blockchain itself. There are many other application, data, and infrastructure components required to go into production. I’m very excited that we have a whole cloud of blockchain technologies pre-integrated for our clients to use.”

Kaleido’s partnership program will also enable third-party technology providers to promote their products in the marketplace, embed Kaleido within their own blockchain projects, or use Kaleido for consultations. Greenfence Consumer, which organizes blockchain-based promotions and digital collectibles for companies like Sony, Fox, and Heineken, is one such partner. The company has been using Kaleido since September 2018 according to Forbes, and the platform has helped them make blockchain development and innovation more accessible.
